Appel pour une rencontre préparatoire - pendant le fin de semaine du
Salon du livre anarchiste - en vue d'un Été de résistance contre la
visite de Bush en août et l'occupation canadienne de l'Afghanistan!

Cet été, deux événements auront lieu au Québec qui révéleront le rôle
du Canada dans la démarche impérialiste américaine et dans les guerres
de conquête à l'étranger :
** le 22 juin prochain, 2000 soldats de la base militaire de Val
Cartier défilerons à Québec avant d?être déployés en Afghanistan;
** le 21 août prochain, Stephen Harper accueillera George W. Bush et
Felipe Calderón au Château Montebello, à mi-chemin entre Ottawa et
Montréal, pour tramer la mise en place du « Partenariat nord-américain
pour la sécurité et la prospérité ».
Nous savons bien comment ces politiciens et ceux qui les ont précédé
ont assuré la sécurité et la prospérité des peuples autochtones des
Amériques; comment ils ont amélioré la sécurité des communautés
musulmanes et arabes via l'introduction de nouvelles mesures comme
l'Accord sur les tiers pays sûr, les enregistrements spéciaux, les
lois antiterroristes et les certificats de sécurité; comment ils sont
actuellement occupés à assurer la sécurité de l'Afghanistan pour la
prospérité des autres; comment ils ont fait un travail remarquable
pour améliorer la sécurité et la prospérité des Irakien-ne-s (655 000
morts depuis l'invasion, selon la dernière étude du Lancet).
Et comment ils planifient LEUR sécurité et LEUR prospérité!
Alors que ces chefs d'État organisent leur rencontre du 21 août, la
machine de guerre canadienne prépare son plus important déploiement de
soldats en Afghanistan depuis 2005. Les soldats de Val Cartier
rejoindront leurs collègues en Afghanistan, où l'armée canadienne est
complice de tortures et a participé au massacre de plus de 3 600
civils depuis 2002.
Cette rencontre préparatoire au Salon du livre vise à entamer la
planification d'une assemblée d'organisation à Montréal, au début
juin, pour lancer la coordination des éléments anti-impérialistes,
anticapitalistes et antiautoritaires en vue de ces deux événements.
Nous invitons tous ceux et toutes celles qui sont intéressées à
contribuer à ces mobilisations à joindre Bloquez l'Empire ce dimanche,
lors de cette rencontre préparatoire.

Call for a preparatory meeting - during the Anarchist Bookfair weekend - for a Summer of Resistance to Bush's visit in August and the Canadian occupation of Afghanistan!

This summer, two events will take place in Quebec that clearly show
Canada's direct role in American imperialism, at home and abroad:
** this June 22, two-thousand soldiers from the Val Cartier military
base will be parading in Quebec City before being deployed to
Afghanistan;
** this August 21, Stephen Harper will welcome George Bush and Felipe
Calderon to the Chateau Montebello, at a resort town between Ottawa
and Montreal, to continue to implement the "Security and Prosperity
Partnership."
We have always known these are the leaders who have done so much for
the "security and prosperity", of indigenous people of the Americas;
have greatly added to the tip-top happy security of Muslim, Arab and
migrant communities through the introduction of such measures as "Safe
Third Country", special registration, "anti-terrror" laws, and the use
of the security certificate; are busy securing Afghanistan for the
prosperity of others; have done such a fantastic job in raising the
security and prosperity of Iraqis (655,000 securely dead since the
beginning of the invasion, as of last Lancet study) ... and they are
here to plan for much more !
While these Heads of States plan to meet on August 21st, the Canadian
war machine is preparing for its largest deployment of troops to
Afghanistan since 2005. Over 2,000 troops from the Val Cartier base,
near Quebec City, will parade in Quebec City on June 22nd before being
sent in Afghanistan to maintain a brutal occupation, where the
Canadian military has been involved in prisoner abuse and participated
in the killing of over 3,600 Afghani civilians since 2002.
We are calling for a meeting as a beginning step towards coordinating
an anti-imperialist, anti-capitalist, anti-authoritarian mobilization
this summer. We are inviting all those interested in helping to build
towards these mobilizations or participate in these actions, to join
us this Sunday or to contact Block the Empire.
